Auditions - Tuesday 17th & Thursday 19th January

Our March 2017 production will be Murder at the Music Hall written and directed by our very own Christine Woodhead. Join us at the play reading to find out more about the show and then see us at the auditions to get involved!

Play Reading

Tuesday 10th January at 8pm at the Hut.

This will be an informal social gathering to drink tea, read the play and find out more about what roles both on and backstage we have available. This isn't just for actors, everyone is welcome so please feel free to come along to see the gang and have a bit of a catch up while finding out more about our March production. We had a few new members join in December so if you haven't been involved in one of our productions yet this is a great opportunity!

Auditions

Tuesday 17th & Thursday 19th January at 8pm at the Hut.

You only need to come to one of the above not both, but you're welcome to come to both if you'd like to. The audition itself will be fairly informal. You'll be asked to read for our director Christine and the other members of our casting committee and then it's off to the pub!

The Play

We will be performing Murder the the Music Hall by Christine Woodhead. ATG has performed several of Christine's plays over the years and they are always very well received by our audience. This play takes the form of a murder mystery evening in which the audience have a fish and chip supper during the interval and at the end of the play they are invited to interview the suspects and guess who the murderer is!

Synopsis

The time is 1912 and the audience is arriving at the less than illustrious Empire Theatre, in the outskirts on London. The evening’s entertainment is presided over by theatre manager and Master of Ceremonies, Mr Oswald Thorndike and included on the bill are:

The Two Farthings – the side-splitting husband and wife comedy act
Marvo the Magnificent – the master of illusion and mystery and his lovely assistant, Miss Bella Delight
Ariadne Montayne - the enchanting American songbird

However, backstage, tensions are high and the scene is being set for murder. Before the night is out a gruesome crime will have been committed and everyone is a suspect!
